"The last time I stayed at this small comfy little motel was the day that Prince Diana died. We arrived to that horrible news when we checked in. I was pregnant with my first baby, and the hotel management was super nice about my emotions being over the top. It was our 2nd time staying here and absolutely love it. I am so glad that she is still the same small comfy little motel that has stood through so many major hurricanes over the decades. I so miss Ocracoke! Hope to visit again soon. Safety: Rooms are very clean. Restaurants across the street and shops just down the road a little that you can walk to. Very safe and the motel staff was absolutely wonderful!"

"We stayed in July '22 for just one night on our trip down the OBX. The location was perfect, and our room was very clean (perfect size for me and my 7 year old son). Parking is tight - just right for my 4 door Wrangler - but I could see where an XL Yukon or something that size might not be as easy to park. Checking in was simple and our stay was very peaceful. Looking at my calendar now to figure out when to book for a longer stay this year!"

"We consider Bluff Shoal Motel our Ocracoke home since we've spent 29 July 4th's there and many "wintery" January visits. We have every intention of continuing this family tradition.
